Modena, land of motors and good food, is also the birthplace of Enzo Ferrari, to whom two museums pay homage, one in the city, the other near Maranello, must-visits for Ferrari fans.
Modena also has lots of local products of excellence: Parmigiano Reggiano, Traditional Balsamic Vinegar from Modena, Lambrusco and many others, skilfully used in new dishes by great chefs like Massimo Bottura.
Modena is also culture, art and the home to fine singing: the old centre of the capital city of the Dukedom of Este is home to jewels such as the Romanesque Cathedral, the Ghirlandina bell tower and Piazza Grande, all declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. Not far away is the nineteenth-century Luciano Pavarotti Municipal Theatre, a tribute to the famous tenor from Modena, an international ambassador for his homeland's love of singing.
The whole area speaks of art and history with its castles, medieval villages, ancient courtyards, many little churches, villas and palazzos.
We have so much to tell in Modena and many excellences to show and enjoy. Our ideas and proposals are ready to offer the best welcome to visitors coming here from the Expo in Milan.
Modena in the heart of the Po Valley, not far from the Milan Expo, we look forward to seeing you.
