Guided tours to the Ducal Palace of Modena

Roman architect Bartolomeo Avanzini designed the Palazzo Ducale, whose construction began in 1634. The Palazzo housed the Este Court for more than two centuries and is today the headquarters of the Italian Military Academy.

The Ducal Palace of Modena can be visited only on Saturday and on Sunday morning, according to a schedule of visits that is constantly updated in this page.

Booking is essential and must be made contacting the tourist information office of Modena, located in Piazza Grande, 14 - ph. 0039-59/2032660

Reservations are accepted
until there are places available (maximum 40 people per tour); Tours depart from the tourism office of Modena, in Piazza Grande 14

For groups of min. 20 people, it's possible to request a guided tour to the Ducal Palace in different days, times, and in a foreign language (English, German, French, Spanish)

The Ducal Palace is home to the Military Academy which reserves, in exceptional cases, the option to cancel guided tours for internal reasons.

The Ducal Palace can not be visited during Christmas, Easter and the month of August.
