Via Barchetta - Via Magnagallo - Modena - MO - 41100
The bridge, reserved exclusively for pedestrians, bicycles and scooters, has been built to link Modena and Campogalliano, creating an alternative to the use of cars, and promoting the use of such areas of environmental interest, such as the Park of the Secchia River and the Curiel lakes.
Although the present structure dates back 10 years ago, the bridge of Barchetta has always represented the shortest way of communication between Campogalliano and Modena. In the Middle Ages a pact was drawn between the towns of Cremona, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Brescia, laying the basis for the creation of a route going from Po river to Modena, passing through the canal Naviglio, and from here proceeding on to Reggio Emilia.
Only pedestrians and bicycles can pass the bridge, as well as scooters up to 50 cc, but only on weekdays.
