San Felice sul Panaro - MO - 41038
THE EARTHQUAKE OF 20 AND 29 MAY 2012 HAS DESTROYED ALMOST COMPLETELY PART OF THE HISTORIC CENTER TOWN. THE ESTE FORTRESS IS SERIOUSLY DAMAGED, LIKE MANY ANCIENT CHURCHES.
San Felice, a feud of Matilde from Canossa, was situated in a strategic military position between Modena and Ferrara. Inside the Este fortress you can visit the Archaelogical Museum "Giuseppe Venturini" and also the well-known Biennial of Contemporary Arts "Aldo Roncaglia", which takes place in September.
Information point: via Mazzini, 13 - tel.0535/86339.
