Soliera - MO - 41019
BECAUSE OF THE EARTHQUAKE OF THE LAST MAY 2012, THE CASTLE AND CHURCHES OF SOLIERA ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
Its name can be traced back to the Latin word Solarium; that is, an open-air attic used to dry wheat. The peace and tranquillity of the area - whose praises were sung by Ludovico Antonio Muratori amongst others - make Soliera a pleasant city, where traditional Modenese delicacies can be enjoyed in an attractive and simulating environment which can draw our attention to our - often overlooked - natural surroundings.
Attractions worthy of note include the Rocca Campori, the Church of San Giovanni Battista which contains a unique painting of the Annunciation attributed to Ludovico Lana as well as the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, the Church of San Pietro and the Church of San Bartolomeo.
