On September 2019, reopen Mirandola Cathedral, after the huge restoration works, following 2012 earthquake.

Mirandola was ruled by the noble Pio's family for 400 years, from 1311 to 1710. The dinasty's continuity as well as its lasting governement worked together to make the town rich and prosperous. Some of its most interesting buildings belong to that period. In Mirandola you can visit the Cathedral, the Town Hall, the Oratory of Santissimo Sacramento, the San Francesco Church, the Oratory Beata Vergine della Porta, the Jesus Church with the Jesuits' Church, where nowadays you can find the Municipal Library and the Civic Museum. The Civic Museum collects several paintings coming from Pio's family, from other ducal court's families and from some ancient churches of the surroundings.
