A scenic 90 km loop following the ancient Via Strata: from Modena to the iconic peaks of the Sassi di Roccamalatina Regional Park. The itinerary blends the smooth former railway cycle path with rolling hills through the medieval villages of Levizzano and Castelvetro. Highlights include a park visitor center tour and a guided Lambrusco tasting at a local winery. A perfect mix of raw nature, history, and the finest food and wine of the Modena hills.

Stage 1 - From Modena to Sassi di Rocca Malatina Park - 45 km Ride a historic section of the ancient Via Strata on a scenic loop starting and ending in Modena. The first stage begins on flat terrain, leaving Modena to reach the foothills above Vignola. The route follows a dedicated cycling and trekking path along a former railway line that overlaps with the historic Via Strata. Once you reach the hills, you can visit the Park Visitor Center and the iconic "Sasso della Croce" within the Sassi di Roccamalatina Regional Park.

Stage 2 - From Sassi di Rocca Malatina Park to Modena - 45 km The second stage features gravel paths with several rolling climbs and descents through the heart of the Sassi di Malatina Park, eventually descending toward the stunning medieval villages of Levizzano and Castelvetro. From here, the final stretch back to Modena returns to flat terrain. During this stage, a stop at a local winery is included for a guided tour and a Lambrusco tasting.
