Rose gardens, frescoes and ceramics: the enchantment of Villa Buontempo - A journey among villas and castles

The Villa Buontempo farmhouse owes its name to ancient Vatican maps dating back to the 17th century, which show the origins of the estate, which over time has expanded to cover an area of 22 hectares. The seven houses that make up the estate have been restored with a view to preserving and recovering as much of the original structure as possible. Villa Buontempo is surrounded by a huge park decorated with dozens of rose gardens of different species. In the courtyard of Buontempo there is also the large Casa Padronale (the old manor house) where you can admire the frescoed walls and discover a little of the history of the villa through the ancient ceramics.
At the end of the tour, those who wish to do so will have the opportunity to enjoy an aperitif featuring local wines and snacks prepared by a sfoglina.
The tasting session, which is optional and payable on the spot, costs €15. Please email extrabo@bolognawelcome.it to let us know if you would like to take part.
The guided tour is part of the “A journey among villas and castles” exhibition.
