Pompeano castle in serramazzoni - a journeys among villas and castles
Perched on a rocky cliff in the Modenese Apennines, the medieval village of Pompeano enchants visitors with its ancient castle, historic remains, and a harmonious landscape of woods, cultivated fields, and the Rio Cervaro stream. Once in decline, the village has undergone major restoration since the 1990s, which has brought its architectural and historical value back to life. The church, tower, walls, and houses have all been carefully restored. Today, Pompeano retains its peaceful rural charm, offering breathtaking views over the valley and an atmosphere of timeless beauty.
