Villa Muggia is an icon of Italian Rationalism. It was built between 1935 and 1937 by architect Piero Bottoni, who was commissioned by the new owner Umberto Muggia to modernise the original 18th-century hunting lodge.

Although the bombings of the Second World War reduced the structure to ruins, the surviving elements, such as the famous elliptical table, which remained intact, bear witness to the splendour of the past and the original charm of the estate.

Thanks to its extraordinary historical and architectural value, the site remains a destination of great interest to international scholars and researchers.

The guided tour is part of the exhibition ‘A journey among Villas and Castles’.
Participants are reminded that the tour is in Italian.
