Description
The sanctuary was built in 1919 in the neogothic style, and later was enlarged in 1967. The façade is by Tubini: the entrance has 3 doors (a large central door plus two others) each with its own separate staircase. The bell tower has 4 windows plus a balcony which forms the base of the spire bearing a bronze statue of the Madonna. Today the large internal space is filled with several rows of pews. When you enter your eye is immediately drawn to the altar and to the painting by Mundici. There are 5 large stained glass windows on the façade. A beautiful crucifix hangs from the ceiling architrave over the altar. The altar itself is a modern embossed copper piece by Prof. Nicola Sebastio. Then there are the artistic tablets of the Stations of the Cross on the sides. The statue by Galli has been entitled by his author the "Ostensory of Peace". The bell tower holds a concert of bells that was inaugurated on June 15th, 1935 and equipped with an electric system when the church-sanctuary was modified in 1967.
