The Formigine’s vinegar factory

The Formigine’s vinegar factory, located in the attic of Villa Benvenuti, was dedicated to Francesco Aggazzotti, first mayor of Formigine in United Italy, lawyer, agronomist and oenologist.

Formigine has a new seat for the vinegar factory, and it is open to tourists! The new seat is the attic of Villa Benvenuti, surrounded by a beautiful park in the middle of the City Centre. The Villa, built in the sixteenth century, was restored at the end of the nineteenth century according to the eclectic and quotionist taste typical of the period; now it is seat of several associations. The Grand Master Giorgio Ferrari, current manager of the vinegar factory, according with other master tasters will conduct the visits. The vinegar factory is dedicated to Francesco Aggazzotti, the first mayor of Formigine in United Italy, lawyer, agronomist and oenologist. Aggazzotti was born in 1811 in Colombaro, where he started a very high quality wine production. From his letter of 1862, the production specification for the protected designation of origin of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar was obtained.

Opening hours

The vinegar factory is open in November for tourist sights only on Sunday, with two guided tours starting at 10 am and 11 am;
