Guided tours in English at the municipal vinegar factory every Saturday at 2:30 PM.
The vinegar loft houses 3 sets of barrels: two smaller sets, consisting of 6 barrels, have been named Secchia and Panaro, like the two rivers flowing near the city. The third consisting of 10 barrels is named Torre Ghirlandina. The first vinegar, called affinato, will be product from 2015, only after 2028 the sets will produce the aged vinegar, called stravecchio.
The vinegar loft houses three big barrique barrels (mother barrels) with a capacity of 100 and 200 liters used to feed the sets, and several other objctes such as the traditional vases in clay to preserve vinegar.
Opening hours
The Municipal Balsamic Vinegar Factory opens with guided tours only, on:
- Fridays 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm (in italian)
- Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays 10.30 am, 11.30 am, 3.30 pm, 4.30 pm (in Italian)
- Saturdays 2.30 pm (in English)
Tickets and admission
FROM MAY 1, 2025:
- Regular admission: € 5.00.
- Admission is free for children up to 12, for persons with disabilities and their caretakers, for tour guides and interpreters, and for teachers accompanying groups of students of any age.
The price includes guided tour and tasting.
