The Museo della Salumeria is the first museum in Italy dedicated to cured meats. It is located in Castelnuovo Rangone (MO) at the historic headquarters of Villani, the oldest charcuterie company in Emilia-Romagna.

  • MuSa offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the flavors and artisanal genius that have always made Italian tables special.
  • In the halls of MuSa, a ten-station multimedia and multisensory tour introduces visitors to the techniques of making salumi and to a history rich in fact and fable. Discover what makes the museum and the Modena area so fascinating.
  • At the end of your visit, enjoy a tasting of the finest quality Villani salumi on the museum’s terrace. You’ll taste PDO (protected designation of origin) Prosciutto di Parma, aged twenty-four months; tender, Italian Cinquefiori Maxi high-quality cooked prosciutto; savory Il Gentile salami; and fragrant PGI (protected geographical indication) Bologna La Santo mortadella, accompanied by a glass of local lambrusco wine. The tour and tasting will give you an authentic Emilian experience.

Accessibility: MuSa presents limited accessibility for persons with physical disabilities. The museum presents stairs making the visit inaccessible for persons requiring the use of a wheelchair. For more information, please contact MuSa.
